LIGHT IS INCOMPLETE WITHOUT DARKNESS

Between the visible and the inevitable

There is a place inside us where we keep everything we never said out loud.
The shadows. The dreams. What we longed for. What we never found the words for.

That is where my paintings are born.

I do not paint to create something pretty. I paint to create something honest.
Something that dares to show the sides of being human that both frighten us and strengthen us. The masks. The darkness. The moment before transformation.
And the quiet power that is always waiting just behind our ribs.

My paintings tell stories about being human in a world where everything moves fast, but the soul moves slowly.
They are about the courage to see yourself fully.
Also the places that hurt.
The places where the light only appears when you dare to look.

I have always been drawn to contrasts:
the beautiful and the raw, the vivid and the dark, the feminine and the rebellious.
To me, art is not decoration.
Art is a mirror.

A quiet space where, for a moment, we can feel ourselves more clearly than before.

If you fall in love with a painting, or have any questions about originals or art prints, you are always welcome to contact me.

I love the dialogue with people who feel the same things I paint.

🖤 Thank you for being here. Thank you for seeing.

The truth is...

I have spent far too many years trying to be “right”.
The right kind of adult.
The right kind of capable.
The right kind of pretty.
It was bloody boring.

Turns out life gets a lot easier when you stop trying to fit into anything at all and just embrace your own chaos.
When you stop explaining yourself.
When you dare to say: fuck it, here I am.

My darkness has never been my enemy. It has been my greatest teacher.
It has taught me to laugh at myself, let go of perfection and remember that none of us really know what we are doing here anyway.
And maybe that is actually freeing.

I do not paint to be deep. I paint because otherwise I would explode.
Art is the place where I can be honest, strange, defiant, soft and ridiculously brave all at once.
If that touches something in you, you are in good company.

Life is too short to be polished.
I would rather be whole.
